Journaling.. for your mental health.   When you were young, you might have kept a diary hidden in your room. It became your confidant and a place to confess your struggles and fears without judgment or punishment. It probably felt good to get all of those thoughts and emotions out of your head and down on paper. The world seemed easier when you could get all those things out.  However it sometimes is easier said than down.  Do not see it has a chore. We all struggle sometimes, we don't know what to "write" about. It is okay,  Read on to the end, I will give you a few examples.  Although you may have ditched the diary once you reached adulthood, the concept and its benefits still apply. Now it’s called Journaling. It's simply writing down your thoughts and feelings to understand them more clearly. And if you struggle with stress, depression, or anxiety, keeping a journal can help you gain control of your emotions and improve your mental health. Benefits of w

Vision Boards Must have an Action Plan behind them.

Image
Vision boards are powerful things, but if you don't have action steps to go along with the images you put on them, then it was all for nothing.  So for that reason I always stress planning, planning and more planning for my students.  It is completely undervalued by most people but so, so powerful.  You must have action steps planned in order to achieve .   You must have a clear vision before you start selecting images and making a vision board. You won’t make something that helps you achieve a life you are longing for, all you will have is a bunch of pretty pictures.  This is the reason that vision boards fail and I am here to help you move past this.  It is all about the action steps. The planning you put into it. Everyone has so many ideas flying around their head that it can be really hard to separate the ones that mean something to us, and the ones that will never bring us happiness.  And since this is step one for vision board creation we can’t afford to get it wrong!

Change your Mindset

If you’re not seeing the success you want from any area of your life, it’s probably because you’re in dire need of a mindset shift. Wayne Dyer said, “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.”   You get to decide whether you are going to look at the world as a hostile place that’s out to get you or a wonderful place with opportunities galore. Changing the way you think is not always easy. Life rarely is. However, if you set your mind to something, you can do it.  You have the power. Through out of lives, especially those of us born in the 60's and 70's, have been told that to to be positive and sure of ourselves was wrong. That self esteem was a bad thing.  Being proud of yourself does not mean brandishing an attitude of arrogance and self-righteousness.  Frankly, people who exhibit those behaviors are often covering up deep insecurities, expressed in the ugliest ways.   Being proud of yourself simply means that you feel good about who you

Grieving.

Death comes to us all. It is the time of death that is unknown. It is the people left behind who have to try to make sense of the loss. We do not know what happens after we die. We each have our own beliefs. It is the people left behind who I speak of now.  We all grieve differently. We all have to come to terms with our feelings for the one who has passed. Whether it be a family member, friend or a mere acquaintance. I find these feelings to be difficult to come to grips with. I have lost people through out my life. My Mother, Father, Grandmother, a Nephew, my Father in Law and a few friends. It doesn't get any easier. They are all a little different to understand, an illness that ends the suffering, a car accident, age itself, cancer, heart attacks, suicide and more. Just because you understand and can accept that death is part of life, does not make grief go away, it just makes it different.  They say grief comes in stages. I say grief is different for everyone.  I don't t
